大学择校-另类选择
小女儿今年会在南加州知名公校高中毕业，同学上大学去向基本确定。跟小女儿聊天，知道她同学在选择大学中有很多另类。
同学中有一男一女选择了去中国上大学。男生是韩裔，选择了去上海的NYU-上海大学，听说这所合办的大学录取率才7%，不亚于美国的藤校。女生是她好朋友，台湾人后代，我们看着长大的，她今年报了17个大学，被波士顿大学和杜克(Duke)昆山大学录取，最后她选择了杜克昆山大学。这所大学是杜克大学和武汉大学十年前在昆山合办的，大学四年中，三年在昆山，一年在杜克，想想在中美间穿梭上大学应该会是人生中难忘的经历。
我前面《WashU的另类数据》一文中，介绍了一男生在最好的UCB(加大伯克利分校)工程学院CS(计算机科学)专业及WashU(圣路易斯华盛顿大学)，选了WashU，大家觉得不可思议，男生本人的解释是，报CS专业是父母要求的，其实他本人还没想好，正好WashU给他免了一半学费，他也想去外州上学，就选了WashU。可怜天下父母心，孩子弃他们愿望而去，应当能想象到他们的失望。
女儿有个熟悉的女同学，被UCB, USC(南加大) 及UCSD(加大圣地亚哥分校)化学专业录取，她觉得UCB从环境及专业考虑都特别适合她，是她的理想学校。这孩子是外婆带大的，跟外婆特别亲，外婆年事已高，身体不是很好，可能需要小孩常来照顾她，就告诉这同学伯克利大远，几个月也见不上面，要小孩留在南加州，小孩不想给外婆留遗憾，只好放弃UCB迭择了UCSD，这样每个周末都可以回家看外婆。人与人不一样，外婆的要求无可厚非，但是我的话，不管自己有多大愿望或困难，一定会尊重小孩的选择，不给孩子人生留遗憾。
另一女同学，被顶尖的UCB工程学院(直接拿到了Regents)，布朗大学及USC电影学院的设计专业录取，最后去了有半奖的USC，大家都觉得她没去UCB可惜了，她回答是，自己喜欢设计，没有真正想去UCB的工程学院，报考UCB只是父母愿望，另外也看看自己的能力。
斯坦福大学是加州小孩的梦校，女儿学校今年有四个被斯坦福大学录取，但还是有一人弃斯坦福而去。另有一女生被普林斯顿大学和USC录取，最后去了USC, 理由很简单，有奖学金及不想离开加州。
最后一例，不算另类，但有趣。一印裔男生，成绩不算太好，GPA中有5个B, 但EC(课外活动)还可以，在红十字会很活跃，橄榄球打的不错。他共报考了50所大学，花了近万元请了升学顾问帮忙，报的许多大学是BS/MD直升，最后只有非直升的5校录取，他选择了其中最好的USC，近万元算是白花了，USC 是他自己准备的，没有升学顾问也会录取他。

I wear size 8 shoe -orderd size 8 -normal width .I m 5'7" -130 lbs . They fit perfect . Little snug at first as are all new shoes . Hope this helps with concerning ordering a size larger issue .

One thing about Nike is their sizes are always really close. Very comfortable shoes. Bought a cheapy pair of shoes in between last Nikes and latest Nikes and it is true that you get what you pay for at least when dealing with Nike.

You can tell these shoes are fake. They look good from the side but when you stand over them they look kind of bad. I think I would consider ordering again if they shipped faster, but they took 3 months to come in.

The make of the shoe itself is fine but the color is COMPLETELY OFF. Looks super fake and not even in the same ballpark of the Hyper Royals they should be a cloudy/faded inconsistent blue. These are just solid blue lol. The second picture is what I was supposed to receive.

It took about 2 1/2 weeks to come in. they were stuck in New York for about a week, they came in and I get the WRONG size. I ordered a men's 11 and got a size 8! I don't know what to do with them other than try and sell them. It'd take another 2 weeks before they get back to the distributor and then another 2 1/2 weeks to get another pair, and who knows if I'd even get the correct size the second time around, then the wait another 2 weeks. Pretty disappointed

This purse is nice quality material, I wish the side seams lined up. Unfortunately that is a dead giveaway that it's a fake and I won't dare to wear it in public. If the side seams had lined up, this bag would recieve top tier reviews because the quality feels nice, it's durable and holds its shape well. If you don't mind using a very obvious fake, this bag is a fabulous purchase for the money. Unfortunately I just don't dare to take it out in public.
